Today I chose a class that uses the movements and breath to remind me of Ahimsa, the practice of non-violence. I enjoyed being reminded to not sacrifice my breath for a posture, and to notice what my mind does when something is challenging. My body was moving and stretching, and yet, I feel more like I spent an hour practicing gentle self-talk, and noticing where my thoughts go and how much violence and attack I do still engage in., and being gentle and loving to that part of myself. I spent an hour breathing and getting to know myself—as a body, a mind and a spirit—with purposeful movement and a gentle guide. I love this part of my physical and spiritual practice. I have so much to take with me into life today, as I move my yoga off the mat,
too.
